update..i found a local spot that has a mast, its real close in dimentions, specifically, its an 1/8" different from my existing step (ill shave an 1/8" off the step to make it work)..but it is 20" too short..the guy want $500 for it..if i get it ill have to get custom sails for the rest of my life ..unless i can get it extended??? is there such a thing?? maybe i can get a guy to fabricate something..

I was in Florida last July, Fort Lauderdale. A small used/salvage shop called Sailorman sailorman.com. I did not look into one I was not in the market, but I saw several of various sizes there. Also try Minneys Yacht Surplus, Newport Beach Ca.

I was once looking for a used mast for an O'Day 23. This was just after Hurricane Bob in New England. A local salvage dealer explained that the mast and rigging were the most common items to get damaged in big storms. So a lot of people would be looking for used masts, but there would be very few available. I ended up commissioning a new mast and rigging. Well worth it, by the way. Might be that after Superstorm Sandy, you could have similar difficulties.

she needs all new stay's and shroud's as well, when Sandy came in she was picked off her stands and dropped into the middle of a main intersection. when the town or utility company showed up she had the mast caught up in all the power lines. so..they cut off the mast and all the rigging and threw it in the dumpster. i need everything from the deck up. the hull is in relativley good shape, a few superficial gouges which ill fill in with some gelcoat. no damage to the interior at all. overall the boat was a steal.

How about Selden for a new mast and boom, I know they have quite a few in the yard here in N Charleston.

Not only you, but every owner after you. I'd think really hard before I altered the geometry of the rig. EVERYTHING will now change... shrouds, roller furler, sails. It was designed that way for a reason, and going the easy route will mark the boat for the rest of its life.
