Hunter Cruiser 25.5 Blue Springs
I bought a 1984 Hunter 25.5 foot cruiser yesterday, this boat needs lots of work, and we are a misfit group of novices. I was curious if anyone might know the standard length and width of tacking (I think that is the name for the ropes?) for the vessel. I know I will have many more questions to come, but I am just trying to get a starting point. I really don't like how the ropes look and before I attach the sails I want fresh ones lol.

To replace the lines...

As suggested above, you should retain the old lines as leaders for the new ones. Simply use thin fishing line and sew a criss cross pattern from one end to the other, fairly snug. This will allow flexibility as the joints go over the sheeves atop the mast. Do not use duct tape.

I will keep that in mind when I change them, thank you cause I was thinking of duct tape lol. This will make it easier I hope
