Please Help !

Can anyone tell me how the main sail foot is attached to the Boom.
The slot in the boom seems extreemly narrow. Has anyone had
problems here? I am sewing a new main sail and I could use some
help.

Hello Dave;

there are no slides on the foot of the main sail; there's
a rope sewn on the foot and you feed the main through
the slot on the forward end of the boom to the end of the
boom. (that's the reason the slot is so narrow).

We have a rope sew into the foot. The width of the track needs to be no
thicker than several thicknesses of sailcloth.
