I have the opportunity to get a 32' sailboat for zip. I have only seen a couple of photos of the boat. The only distinguishing feature to me is a mermaid placed on the waterline aft. Anyone?!??

Just FYI- take the concept of "free" and forget it exists. Set aside a couple thousand at the minimum - remember you have to pay for storage, and it doesnt go away. Not to mention actually sailing

Hull Identification number

Ask for it. Found usually at the stern. First three letters are the Mfg code example XDY = O'Day SUR = Performance Catamarands and etc... The last two numbers is the year she was made 77 = 1977 and so on. There is a web site to go to identify once you have the input from the HIN#. I'll see if I have saved it and post for you..

Agree not free

reminds me of when I was a kid and my dad was looking at a boat named Big Trouble for $450. There is a reason someone names a boat big trouble.

Thank you all!

I think Mr. Wilson nailed it. The mermaid on the Privateer is identical to the one on the boat in question. Free stuff moves very fast on Craigslist, the boat is already gone. Probably just as well. Great advice from all- thank you. This was my first experience with this website. I appreciate the ease of posting a question and the quick replies.
