Sometimes it gets frustrating
to listen to the nonsense, and not unreasonable to finally find someone who speaks a bit o'truth.Newbies, wannabees, experienced hands alike have questions. That's what this is all about. Sharing ideas and answers. But, basically, it gets a little foolish when someone who's been answering repeated questions about an extremely important topic is brought to task because she states the obvious. In many cases, it's about time to say to people who ask really really dumb questions, and to those who take umbrage at a basically honest reply, with a few basics themselves.Get a life?Buy a book!!! and read it.In case you may have missed it, this lady has written a book. And there are still questions about the very subject of that book, from people who've (maybe?) read it, that appear to be more like questions equivalent to "what is the pointy end of the boat called?" Peggie has repeatedly re-answered the same questions, some of which have been on the board during the same day or two cycles, and most of which could have been answered by doing a little (archive) or personal research. It's about time, folks, to perhaps remind the people who are posting incredibly LAME questions on this board to do some of their own homework and research, first. And this question was a "Please HELP!!!." Bottled water, perhaps? It may well be reasonable for some of you, in addition to Peggie, to point this out in the future. It's reasonable to ask questions. It's a great idea to respond. It's good to give references. But sometimes it's not unreasonable to point out some basic ideas about how really, really weird a request is. In all, boating is also a life safety issue, and if this particular respondent can't figure out this question, he could well be a safety hazard to himself and others. What was the hurry (HELP!!!), or could he have waited and called the PO or dealer? Some people who ask and then get responses like this, and then claim they're gonna "quit this board," are unfortunately altogether too common, we've seen it before. If you'll notice, this same questioner asked the same question earlier the same day. http://www.sailboatowners.com/forums/pviewall.tpl?&fno=22&uid=73200280089&sku=2006155042506.42 In a very nice way, BTW. Guess a few hours later he was at wit's end.Just a thought...or, go buy a book.
