Unstepped mast, now rebbeding chainplates and need to know how the chainplate is removed. On the other end of the rod (inside cabin) it looks like a tall hex nut is welded to the angle iron support in the hull. There is a jamb nut on top of this nut which is loose. Does the chainplate spin off the rod? Seems not due to the chainplate not being at a 90 degree angle relative with the rod??? Or does the rod and chainplate spin together from the nut? Anyone who could help is appreciated.
