I just spent a weekend removing a Harken track and used many tools, PB Blaster, heat, and old fashion weight to remove 50 slotted screws. The slotted heads were 1" across so the slotted bits on several impact hammers snapped about the third hit with a hammer. The track was on our boom so I decided to remove it and get it to a couple of sawhorses to get more weight on it. I had let the PB Blaster work overnight but it didn't reach the threads under the track. I tried a bit brace with a slotted tip but only stripped the slot heads. Finally, with the advise of a service manager, I tried heating the screws and wacking them with a hammer. I got lucky and removed one.

This is when I called for my friend to give me a hand. It was heat, wack, weight on a screwdriver, and turn with an adjustable wrench. Progress was slow and the very last one wouldn't give in so the hacksaw came out to trim the track away from the screw. We got the job done in 5 hours so now I'm looking for impact slotted drivers and can't seem to find any better than the sheetrock quality. Does anyone make a tool for this job?
