I take meticulous care of my windows on my canvas using only a mild soap to clean and Plexus to maintain. Until yesterday the plastic on my 2002 356 looked as good as the day they installed it.However, as I was returning from a club race I noticed two marks, that almost look like scuff marks that I do not believe were there when we left in the morning. Since my sails including the main are roller furling, no one was ever on deck.As bewildered as I am as to the origin of these marks, I am more perplexed as to how to remove.Any suggestions would be appreciatedThanks John

Jib sheets?

Sometimes when my jib comes around and flaps, a sheet will whack the windshield. The scuff mark will buff out.

I Agree- Jib Sheets

I got a nice scuff from them the first time I had the dodger set. I believe that a product name P210 (paste) and related to M210 glass spray. Will remove the scuff. It has a very mild pumice and is designed for this problem. I have use it successfully. The M210 spray is great stuff. I use it twice a season (more if inclined to do so) and it prevents algae (brown growth in the vinyl) and restores the moisture to the vinyl. I have purchased it from the dodger-guy, but is also available from Boater's World for cheaper.

If you had been club racing, why would you have your dodger up? and why would your crew not have been moving around on deck for better heeling angles? A dodger is a major restrictor to movement by the crew and creates unnecessary windage.

Whatever you do...

Don't use any window cleaner with amonia as it will craze the plastic. Who knew?

Comfort

The reason the dodger was up, was for comfort.My 356 also known around the club as "The Hilton" affords a lot a comfort.Of the 8 boats in the race only a J30 beat me.Not to bad for the 356
