I've seen ads for so-called computerized props made of "composite" plastics designed especially for Yanmar 2GMF20 engines. They are touted as being "more efficient" under sail as well as under power. I have a 1988 Hunter 30 with this engine, and I am not having a particular problem, but I am always interested in improving performance. So, I wonder, to what extent would my boat's performance be improved by a prop which is not necessarily designed for my boat, but for my engine? What are the pros and cons of the "composite" material props? Thank you.
