Resent purchase of a 1978 30' Hunter. The problem, she's in a lake and I have no trailer. Have contracted with a welder to build me a new trailer but would be much easier with some dimensions. Hoping someone might have some old plans or brouchures for that year. THANKS

Trailer for a 30??

I have a 30 from the same era (1982). Those boats are pretty heavy. What do you plan to tow it with once you have the trailer constructed? You might be $$ ahead hiring a professional boat moving company to move it for you.

Hi Roger, I agree with Bob. The weight of the ...

boat requires a pretty hefty towing rig, IMHO. You may have to go commercial. My Dad's old Buick V8 Roadmaster was pretty strong, but out of its class in this case. Terry

Thanks guys

Towing isn't a problem, I have a Dodge Ram diesel, duelly that could haul a house.

Check Gear for Sale

My first thought was to agree with Bob & Terry. I wouldn't think of trying to tow my h31 but if you have the horses......have fun. I just checked the "Gear for Sale" section & there is a shipping cradle which may be what you are looking for. You could at least contact the seller for pictures, sizes etc. In addition you should check into your state's requirements for overwidth loads. The hunter 30 has a 10' 2" beam. In my experience this will require a special overwidth permit. Fair winds Chuck Dickhut S/V Kililani h31
