for the VHF while the mast is down. My big question concerns how to secure the new cable inside the mast to avoid the "banging" noise that a loose cable can develop. I have a 1982 H-27. Any thoughts? Thanks, as always, for your input.

Yes...

one way is to use "cable ties" in a Dr. Pepper fashion....10 - 2 - 4. Use the larger stiff cable-tie and put them about every foot or so, or put three together, then three more at about 2 feet, etc...this is the quich and easy way. Good luck.

Secure Mast Wiring

Check your spar section. I think that the one in the link is my mast (84H27) and if you read the fine print, there are internal tracks and a reference to "internal electrical slides". I don't know if this is the answer, but, it looks promising. If I am all wet, someone please tell me.

Dave, am I to understand that the 10-2-6 means

that I put cable ties on the VHF cable at those degrees? If so, how often should I put them on the length (over 33 feet) of the internal run?

Kenyon Section

Jay, If the cross section is similar to the link in Chuck's message, then the fix is simple. Look near the bottom at the description: Electrical Wire Slides - 10 Pack: K-10908P: Nylon slides fits all Kenyon and Rig-Rite mast sections with internal electrical wire slide tracks. Slides are attached to wiring harness at 2-3 foot intervals with tie wraps. Prevents wires from slapping, and from fouling internal halyards. It would be helpfull to other Cherubini 27 Hunter Owners of your year group as well.

Jay, your mast may have a conduit for the wire...

I know ours does...different boat. Terry

*bzz Got my first chance to check out the mast today,

and the mast does have a tube for the wiring. Used the old wiring to pull the new coax thru (from top to bottom) and with the new antenna install and connectors, the total time was only 45 minutes!! I was amazed at how easy and smoothly this installation went. Thanks to everyone for the advice.
