RE: Loos Cable

"Are your cables 100% Domestic?

They certainly can be. We manufacture our cables at our facility in Pomfret, CT. We source our raw material on the global market. If you require cable that is 100% Domestic, notify your product manager at the time of quotation or order and we will manufacture it for you.
"

Just like most companies these days the materials are almost always sourced on the global market which could include China. Buy cable from a reputable supplier like Loos and you will get a good quality product regardless of where the country of origin is.

There are many reputable companies selling wire rope such as M&G or Loos & Co. but one should be able trust that a reputable supplier like Defender, Hamilton, Seco South, Rigging Only and others are using quality wire rope regardless of the raw materials source or country of manufacturer if it meets the industry accepted specs..

Thanks for all the great input guys. So it is down to getting an estimate from my marina and trusting their supplier or going with Seco South or Rigging-Only. If the local estimate is reasonable I will ask the questions that you all have recommended. After all, I drive a Chrysler sedan and a Ford van. How fussy can I be?

I did want to get exact measurements when I went to the lake today to winterize. But they had already wrapped and stored the mast right off the truck. It will have to wait until spring.
