I bought a trailer which I plan to adapt for my O'Day 272. Can anyone help me with placement of jackstands to support the boat properly? Or is it recommended to use bunk boards?

My trailer for my 272 has bunks. However, the position and adjustment of the bunks is important, just like the stands. The forward is under the bow.
The first pair of stands are under the forward bulkhead.
The next pair is at the midpoint.
The next pair is at the aft bulkhead (forward end of cockpit)
The last pair is under the cockpit.
If any of the pads that are not under bulkheads is too high, it will oilcan the hull.

Thanks for the info Andrew. Years ago I had a Colgate 26 on a trailer with bunkboards. It was a pain in the neck when it was time to work on the bottom and paint it. By the way, what is the keel resting on? Steel or wood?
One more question... is the center of the keel between the 2 axles. Tongue weight OK?

Can you supply some dimensions based on the length of the boat and from some arbitrary point (the bow, for instance) with distance from center line and height up from the bottom of the keel?
