Has anybody figured out how to bbq a pizza in a Magna. I have tried everything. Usually a burnt bottom and a soft top. Then elevated the pizza on rocks to keep it from burning. Rocks rolled off. Tried pans with holes and holeless pans. Tried wind breakers to keep the flame from getting too hot and tipping the lid to let the heat excape. Some body please help us. We need our weekly pizza fix!!!. Thanks. Sean S/V Carnaby Street

Calzone?

Maybe if you fold it in half so you can flip it over you might have better luck.

Pizza Stone

Sean, Haven't tried it but I use one at home and love it. You have me curious now. Will have to see if it fits my grill. Jeff Morrison S/V "Festivity" 1996 H26

Have you tried a cooking stone? I don't know if you can get it hot enough with a grill, but desperate times require desperate measures. Let it preheat with the hottest fire, then give it a try. Good luck

Yes, a Pizza Stone.....

...will work. I've done it on campouts. Keep the cover on and get it hot inside. Either use alot of flour one the stone to prevent sticking or spray alot of Pam first! Let me know how you make out

The trick is.............

The trick is to grill one side of the pizza dough first, then add the toppings. I found this recipe the other day and can't wait to try it out onboard. Pizza On The Grill Ingredients 1 ready made pizza crust 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese 1 cup tomato sauce 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper 1/2 cup fresh sliced mushrooms Directions 1 Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil grate. 2 Roll out prepared pizza dough to a size that will fit your grill. Place on grill for 5 minutes, or to desired doneness, and flip over. Now add the sauce, cheese, green bell pepper and mushrooms. 3 Cover the grill and allow to cook over high heat for 5 to 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

A Lot to Learn!

WOW!!! I am just getting back into sailing after a few years off. I thought all I had to do was worry about wind, types of sails, points of sail..etc. Now, cooking pizza! This keeps getting better and better. I have used a pizza stone on the grill at home but clean-up is drastic! I am going for the cook on one side and then flip and coat,,sounds great to me.
