Well, I finally did it. I sold my H240 through this great website to a buyer in Iowa and bought another Hunter in Iowa as well. All by coincidence. What a trip that was! Through a tornado, Hail, thunder, lightening, wind gusts of 50 mph, snow storm and black ice. Happy to say that everything went well and we are back here in Utah safe and sound. It was nice to meet the friendly people of Iowa. Now I have to learn how to step the mast of the h27 and how to sail it. Fair winds, Dan

Like you, I just bought a larger boat and am preparing to sail mine up the east coast to home base in Annapolis. I have my father down at the boat doing all the leg work and he will be making the journey with me. Looks like you and I are both lucky in that regard. Great story. P.S. I sold my former 31' through the HOW site. Great, huh?

I went thru your photographs. Its fun seeing what other people our doing. Did you sail your 240 on different lakes? I hope you enjoyed your 240 I pick my new one up next week. If you have any advice for me or words that could reduce the standard buyers remorse I sure would appreciate it.

Hi Brad, You will love the 240! I did. The only reason I sold it was that I just had my fourth child and it is too small for six people. I am scared to death about the h27, like stepping the mast and all that. The 240 was great in that regard. I could step the mast by myself and launch the boat by myself too. Peace of cake. The 240 is a bit tender at first, but settles down after about 10-15 degrees heel. Did you read my review on this site? And everyone elses? Let us know if there are any changes on the 2001 models. I am just curious. I just hope you got the rail seats. They are the best seats on the boat and I will miss them on my new 27. Enjoy your new boat! Fair Winds, Dan

Dan, Your pictures made me homesick. We lived in the Quad Cities for several years and kept our boat on Red Rock Lake. In fact, I recognize the boat you bought as they were a slip away. The folks at Red Rock Lake were some of the friendliest people we ever met. They have a great Ice Cream social. Red Rock lake must be one of the greatest hidden sailing spots. No one would ever think you could sail in Iowa, and smack dab in the middle of the state is this great big lake. The marina only holds about 40 boats, so the lake is never crowded.
