Posted the pictures of our weekend sail from Cobb Island down the Potomac River and up the Chesapeake Bay to Solomon's Island. Total trip was 106nm. Trip down the river Saturday morning was fantastic, wind was beam to quartering beam 12-18 kts, boat was flying at 7kts and above for hours. Seas were running about 2 ft. Solomon's is a fun place but crowded. Seemed that people just dropped their hook where ever they felt like it. Had one guy come in Sunday afternoon about 40 ft from me and started lowering is anchor and I just called over to him and said "I've got 60ft of line out". He blinked a few times said something to his wife and upped his anchor and moved over. We were in 13-15 of water. Oh Well, It was a great weekend. Jim S/V Java

Wish I was there

Jim: I was up in Annapolis post Ernesto. We were trying to have a race for 3 days up there but there was not enough wind. The race committee delayed Saturday's starts for 2 hours to miss the tail end of Ernesto but it it left only blue sky and 2-3 knot breezes behind. We bobbed just south of Thomas Point for 3 days. I could have stayed home and mowed the grass. At least the rum was good at the party. Mark (Post Labor Day Depression) Burrows

Jim: Nice pics!

Great set of pictures of you and Joan. I've had the same experience while anchoring in Solomons. But it sure is a fun place with lots of watering holes. How far is it from your marina at Cobb to the mouth of the Potomac? We had about a foot of water OVER the docks at Herrington during Ernesto, but no damage. The hurricane season, which has just begun, is already tiresome....
