It depends

Your PHRF rating is dependant upon your sail measurements and where you sail. It is supossed to be the average handicap of your boat in the seas you sail in. I know that the PHRF of a Hunter 30 in Lake Erie is different from the same boat in Lake Huron. Contact the PHRF association for your area.

Would just like to know the range. We applied over a month ago & have not gotten our rating yet.

Basic Rating

John, As Stephen said the rating will vary from one PHRF Area to another. But just for a basic idea the YRA-LIS has the Hunter 29.5 at 177. This assumes a 153 genoa, folding prop, and all the other go-fast stuff. A smaller genoa or fixed blade prop will get you additional time.
