I was given a PHRF handicap base rating of 146 plus 6 for a fixed 2 blade prop for a total of 152. This doesn't compare with 168 given to Hunter 34 in the GYA fleet. My boat has a shoal draft keel. Where can I find a website listing for the PHRF rating for Hunter 34 shoal Keel.

I got 156 ...

Local club racing on the GA coast. They set my rating down at 156. Shoal Draft Fixed 2 Blade Prop 110 Jib No credit for the tons of cruising gear and stocks of adult beverages. Wish I knew how I could get a 168. Scott 83-H34-188 Island Hops

It depends where you are

Every PHRF area sets there own ratings based on local conditions, light to high winds, seas etc. I race a H34 deep keel on Lake MIchigan out of the Chicago area, and have a PHRF Spin rating of 135, and JAM of 150. The important thing is the spread between your boat and the competition. For more information talk to your local/club PHRF handicapper, or contact me. We just got our rating changed a couple of years ago. We do quite well against J-30s, Olson 30s, S-2s and the like. Good Luck PJ
