I am a new Hunter 260 owner interested in doing some local racing and in all cases I am being asked for our PHRF Rating?Does anyone know the PHRF Rating?ThxRod McLeodrod_mcleod@msn.com
I used to race in Lake Erie and my PHRF was 189 with Spin and 199 without. In Lake Huron they have some local variations and my PHRF is 204 with or without spin. Same Boat and Same Sails.Search the web for your local PHRF administrator and they will tell you who can measure your boat and what you need to do. The cost is about $25 or less.
on the Chesapeake...FYI, the listing for a Hunter 26 (Mid Atlantic) in the 2003 handbook is 216. The only listing for a 260, is Percy Priest, and that is 225, so, I am guessing that you will need to get the boat survey'd for a formal listing. Good luck and fair winds....
There is a 260, "Zinfandel", sailing on Lake Norman, North Carolina with a PHRF of 226 designated by the LNYC. They gave my boat the same PHRF in 2003 when I participated in an open regatta. This was in the non-spin class.Steve
