As you can imagine, this is going to take some time!

We are using our staff as an esteemed panel of judges. Among us we have two pretty good amateur photographers, one working (as in, people pay her for stuff) artist, two former advertising execs, two world cruisers, and one person with a terabyte of digital photos who is not named Jared.

We will announce the winners here sometime Sunday night or Monday morning.

I have to say, I am blown away by the talent in the forum.

Allow me to be the first to, as they say, suck up. Who do I make the cheque out to?

Guys, I'm going to make an effort to keep this thread from being hijacked. If you want to comment on what is or isn't appropriate to post here please PM me. Thanks!

Phil,

I apologize man, I was just trying to be humorous but then, the BoatBabe hornies started posting.
This is why I NEVER visit Off-Topic or War Room.

But ya gotta admit, maybe captnron saves one marriage or relationship. Remember the saying, "The truth shall set you free." (hopefully this doesn't mean divorce).

ps: Everything & navigating is working fine on your site. It just took alittle bit of adjustment.
I really like it very much over the old site, when clicking on alerts, I'm now always signed in as Captnron..........Remember, I'm only working with my last two brain cells man.

Thanks,

CR

Blown away is an understatement!! (and a pun?!?):clap::clap:
I can't believe what we just saw! pmirenda may have to be disqualified for having too many spectacular photos. I loved Foggy Marina in Margate, Fore Sails in San Diego and Nonsuch in Bayville. Centerline, who knew you'd have so many memorable photos! As expected from Capta, spectacular! Maulden gets kudos (from me) for PNW Racing (my favorite of his among many). Bill19233 captures spur of the moment fun in Happy Hour (I'd call it "Girls just wanna have fun") No disrespect for women in sailing, Jackdaw - just a great, mood-capturing personality photo. There are WAYYY too many more that deserve mention!

I'm in awe of this display. The photo that had me transfixed was Kris Cringle's Isle of Skye. That might be my choice.

I would love to have a running subscription of calendars with these photos. Friends on SBO. I'd sign up for several years worth!

This has occurred to us, too. We're going to figure it out, if we can.

We are down to a final 25. I honestly don't know how we're ever going to agree on a winner.

I am sure no one would mind, but the proper thing to do is ask permission. Yeah, I know, they willingly put them up on a public board, but still... Know what I mean?

I absolutely agree.
I would NOT like to try to judge the photos... it was a hard enough decision trying to decide what to post and what not to post to keep from filling up the thread :).... with the amount of photos I have and DIDNT post, i can only imagine that others have equally as much that are just as good as what they did post....
in my opinion, about 30% of the entries go into the "beyond amazing" catagory, and from there its just a matter of throwing a dart into the pile and seeing where it lands to find the winner... its too difficult to humanly choose just one.

We all are smitten with our own entries and would love to win one of the prizes. I have a favorite that I would choose to win and will tell y'all my pick once the results are announced. (And it's not one of mine, dang it!)

How about adding a People's Choice Award?

I voted. Dang, Phil. It was NOT easy! Who's idea was it to have a People's Choice Award anyway? He should be gigged!

Can you post the voting results? It might be nice to see how many liked the individual photos.

Phil,
Don't forget. You, Bly, my First Mate and me sailing on beautiful Lake Murray, SC while I sing Rainbow Connection in Kermit's voice. All this and more can be yours if "The Prize is Right!"

I'm actually shocked with this crowd that there isn't more attempts at influence!
