Thinking of going up to the Phila Show next weekend from DC/Baltimore - not sure of the day (Fri/Sat/Sun.) Can anyone give tips on parking v. train, or other suggestions for making a daytrip? Thanks.

You will find plenty of

parking. If you want to you can take Amtrak and the a Septa train east on the market street line.

I'll look for you Jim..

Hope to see you there Jim. I'll look for the sling. If it's like most of them, everyone will look lost, so that will be hard to pick out...;)

I have a map

I have a street map of the area around the Convention Center. It shows parking areas and one-way street directions. Unfortunately, it must be faxed, I do not have a file of it. Maybe the Convention Center site has a downloadable map. If you want a copy of mine leave a fax number and I'll forward it on. Tom s/v Orion's Child P.S. Jim, I'll keep an eye out for your sling. I'll be wearing a MAS Epoxy shirt.

Information on line

The Strictly Sail (SailAmerica) web site has good directions and a link to the PA Convention Center site. From there you can view and print an area street map with parking lots, hotels, etc.

heres a parking tip they dont tell you

If you park in the parking garrage right across the street from the convention center, across the street from the reading terminal market,,,,(not on the same side connected to the reading terminal market), This is across the street from the convention center across from the main entrance into the building and across the street from the market on the corner, large Brick multi level covered parking garrage...... If you park there,,,go into the market,,,buy something,,,Conolies are my favorite...HAVE YOUR PARKING SLIP VALIDATED.....then hit the show,,,FREE PARKING!.....We went 2 years ago during the snow storm,,,what a blast,,, the seminars were good, but the rum samples were the best. I was going to go to buy AirConditioning as a boat show special,,,turns out the vendor I was looking for isnt going,,,ordered the air before the end of the year before the increases,,,,came in yesterday,,,so no show for us this year,,,,Im off to the boat to begin the installation! Have fun

Arch Street Parking

Another alternative to the convention center lot and sometime cheaper too is Arch Street. There are a number of open parking lots on Arch Street which runs along the convention center. It's a one way street westbound and is loaded with pkg lots.
