It's the "Boat Babe on Strike!" post, Its a longggggggggggg post so that might have something to do with it

Yes you are correct. But it almost seems like the page width is somewhat dynamic now, and does change on a topic basis.Maybe BBOS(Boat Babe On Strike) is old and changes were made to the site after...

Ok, I know what it is

When someone posts text with no spaces in it (as happened in the Boat Babe thread) it expands the width of the column because there is no line break. That whay we treat links with the "link submitted by author." Some of them are so long they mess up the format of the thread.
