OK on WD-40 hold

Thanks, I hope to get to it this weekend. This is after getting started on my flooring project. Just picked up a new AGM battery to replace the starting battery. It is 4-5 years old, and was not holding the charge while sitting. Will post results as soon I get it going.

This may sound a little like voodoo but try it

If the engine doesn't start promptly advance the throttle to wide open and return to idle. Pull and return to run the stop cable, advance the throttle to wide open and try the starter again. I am told that it has something to do with "resetting the rack". I have no idea what that means but the advise came from the diesel boat forum and about six separate answers. Besides that it always works on my Volvo one cylinder even after it has been sitting all winter.

Agree with Ross

I do remember some of the forums of past talking about resetting the rack, not that I have ever had a no start on my Westerbeke yet... I do remember that statement So Ross its not voodoo

Rad, for me it falls into the same catagory as the guy

shreding cigarets and sprinkling the tobacco around his chair. when asked why he did that, he said it keeps the tigers away. Told that there were no tigers within a hundred miles he replied....................."works pretty good."

Voo-Doo

Ross, I am taking the needles out of my Ross doll! I bumped the starter to get the pump in a position where it had some pressure, pumped it a few time, and then preformed you voodoo trick of "resetting the rack" Va-boom!, she started right up. Thanks to every one who contributed. Now, on to the next project.

Someday I will spend some time with my dealer

and find out what really is happening inside the engine when we do this little dance.

Ross...

If that annoying pain you've had goes away and you feel better just don't piss Kerry off and have him put the voodoo on ya ;)

Rad, I wonder if that stabbing sensation in my back

is related? I guess I have to kill a chicken and examine the gall bladder to find out. ;D

Sometimes we tend to

overlook the simpler ways of doing things. Wouldn't it be nice if everything was simple? Those were the days. Ross you get a slice of raisin pie tonight. Keep it up, Ctskip
