My 1992 H28 appears to have one of the wings on the shoal draft keel that is slightly bent (3 inches) downward. It may have been bent when I got hauled out for transport (maybe the wing got caught under the trailer when the operator activated the hydrolic arms). Do you think this is anything to worry about and will if affect my performance? I am a cruiser not a racer.

bent wing

The tip of one wing of the keel (H28) was deflected (up) when it came in contact with a submerged rock at about 5 Kts. It was a substantial (and frightening) blow but of no deleterious consequence for the boat integrity and maneuverability. I did find some evidence of stress(cracks)at the junction of hull and bulkheads in the buttom of some wells and they were repaired by laminating fiberglass. The bent wing was too repaired (sledgehammer) followed by smoothening of the surface. This last repaired was more for cosmetic reason as I do not think that it had any effect on the sailing performance. So may by have a look under the floor and in the various wells. JLAnctil
