Penobscot Bay

Looking for a couple of good anchorages on Penobscot Bay. Something on Vinylhaven, something in that mess south of Stonington, then maybe Ilseboro or maybe something closer to Northhaven, then back to Rockland. 2nd or third day it might be nice to have a store to get more ice at. Can anybody help a brother out?

We went out of Camden on 7/4. Hit Ilseboro, Bucks Harbor, Pulpit Harbor, J.O. Brown on Northhaven.

South of stoning ton, Merchant Island (north side) lovely quiet spot . If bound for Rockland stop at Pulpit Harbor on North Haven, row to town dock walk 1/2 mile to store or stop in Belfast and get ice at the town dock. Enjoy

Use the Taft Maine cruising guide, they are all in there, providing a star value to each location and how to enter if you do not have a chart plotter. There is no better book available when cruising the Maine coast.
