I need to mount a camera about 3' out from the stern pulpit facing fwd. I'd like to keep the horizon "horizontal". So, I need a pendulum mount. The camera can mount to a tube around pulpit size. Any ideas? I'm thinking a block that I can somehow put tubes on diametrically opposite. One for camera and one for weight. But, I haven't got past the block...

There was a post a while back that had a kite flown from a sailboat. It had a mount from below the kite which the poster had a camera mounted. I don't remember exactly when, but the movie clip was well done. Good luck.

Well if you dont want to spend 400 dollars you can do the poor sailor's adaptation. Its called the Liquid Caddy. We used it to mount our GoPro camera too. Just hooked a standard mount to bottom of cup holder and then told the camera to film upside down which the GoPro will do. Works very well for under 20 bucks. Here it is in action in pretty good seas. The part where we are doing the crossing.

Here is where you can get it among probably alot of other places.

Works pretty good for the investment. And btw, the whole movie was shot with the GoPro.

Cheers

Can't believe I didn't mention it is a GoPro 2 that I want to mount. Don't want to spend a bunch to do it and the drink holder is intrigueing. I do need to get it outboard several ft as the S2 cabin has some curvature going fwd. Didn't see anything on GoPro website but maybe they have some ideas..
