Hello all, Just a question. My Pearson P36-2 is a shoal draft with centerboard. The pendant runs through piping up from the keel though sealed pipes and pullies on the corners in sealed housings? Mine has some green corrosion on the pipes and joints. Are these systems prone to failure? Is there maintenance that should be done? Is there any reason to consider an upgrade before anything happens? How is the plate on the bottom of the hull bolted on (4 bolts)? I did google this and came up with different discussions, but no companies advertising their product. Thanks and pardon my ignorance Greg P36-2 #101

Pearson Pendant Problem?

You sound a bit frustrated, and I say, "welcome to the world of boating, now bring out another thousand". I have seen these but cannot answer your question specifically, but you do not want corrosion on the cables, and eliminate chafe as it is a killer. 1) keep at it, and no need to apologize; we've all been there.Ask yard foremen, and anyone that would know. I'll consult some books, but I don't have anything on Pearson. Here's a number of a guy who will know: Mr. Rich Levy 410-221-1108 and he can either tell you what to do or steer you to someone in NY that can.

Thanks CaptRon

My problem is that I want to figure everything out now.....I love to have a full understanding of the way things work on the boat and how they would fail. The cable itself appears to be in good condition and when the boat was in the water prior to me purchasing it, no water was coming into the bilge. Thanks for the help and advise!! Greg
