Pelican Hook specs for 1999 Hunter 280

I need a replacement for my pelican hook on my 1999 Hunter 280 (nothing in manual or Internet). Looking for-threads per inch, right hand or left hand threads, and any other specs I need for an order. If someone could respond with a make and model it would be great.

Mike, where does it attach on your boat. If the lifeline there is a reference in the SBO Shop to a hook that fits the 280.

Measure the outside diameter of the male thread.

Determine wether left or right by turning the locking nut.

You then have it. Note that it could be different from original on a 25 year old boat. Be prepared for sticker shock.

Thread size-1/4 “
Left hand thread
Does this sound correct, and if so can somebody recommend where to get one?

I did but they wanted $32 to ship to me in Canada. I may have found one at the Rigging Shop in Toronto. Thanks for the help

Are your lifelines at or near the 20 year mark? Replace them, and use the newer C.S. Johnson Over Center Snap Gate Pelican Hook, as they are much safer. BTW, Most riggers will pass thru their lower price for these and other parts when they build the new lifelines, so the price will be more reasonable than you might think
