I've been given a bit of a chore by one of my fellow boaters. Apparently, he/she needed a new outboard motor and, armed with bolt cutters and the cloak of night, liberated mine from the back of my boat. Neatly snipped everything connecting the motor to the boat, including the fancy little cable lock intended to deter a less-prepared thief. New motor, battery, and fuel lines are easily located. Are the cables connecting the throttle and gear shift to the Edson pedestal controls pretty standard, or am I due a call to Hunter?
