I was wondering if anyone know the width of the pedestal guards on a 31H? I was looking for one witha 2 bends but they have 2 sizes. 9.5" and 12" wide and for the best of me I can't think which it would be. I think it is 9.5 inches wide but I am not sure. Paul

There was none!
Paul: There was none when the boats were delivered. This was an aftermarket item. Our dealer installed one on our H'31. The turned the legs in and screwed them to the pedestal. This serves two purposes. The first one is that you do not stub your toes on the legs. The other benefit is that you have no holes in the cockpit sole to leak and rot the plywood under the sole.

I still need to know what the width is
I guess me and my crew have been lucky since none of us have ever stubbed our toes. In time that may change. I have seen boat where they have turned the legs inward and mounted it to the pedestal. When my cockpit table is folded down it attaches to the bases of the pedestal guard so the table does bounce or rattle. But what I need to know is the width of the pedestal guard. Paul

I do not know which one you have but.....
Paul: I do not know which one you have because they were not standard equipment. If you have the larger one (12" on center) the overall width is 14.25". (I happen to have one here and just measured it for you). I would assume that you would be looking at 11.75" overall width if you have the smaller 9.5" plate.

I have opted to replace my pedestal guard with a double bend guard. I will soon have a straight one available if some one needs it. The reason I went with a double bend is for the height and so I can install a navpod box. if any one knows a cheap to reasonably price location for navpod boxes for 9.5" guard please let me know. Paul
