I paid attention to my eyes as both the chartplotter and Aquamaps had me running through the swamps. Could have been some sort of temporary gps anomaly, any way, we were safe and in plenty of water. We may pass through the area in a couple of days and I'll be interested to see where the gps thinks I am.

We did well enough following the blue dotted line.

Another GPS anomaly: You can see the boat icon is several hundred feet west of the bayou.. and a previous pass had me in the marsh..

Which brings up my conversation with Homeland Security when we were doing a check in after crossing from the Bahamas. The response was “Is that you on the Wacamaw River near Georgetown, SC“? My response was “Yep, I knew you knew what I knew you knew.”

You waited until Georgetown to check in? No wonder CBP was keeping an eye on you.

and yet, TRUE north has not moved an inch
On the other hand, Magnetic North can't seem to find a decent home as it keeps moving around. Now headed towards Siberia. (One wonders about the geopolitical implications and the disinformation that will flow from its new residence, "Russia is such a wonderful country, even the North Pole is moving here.")

I think you mean the North Pole, not Magnetic North, no?
Did you read the article?

At the beginning of the 20th century, the magnetic north pole was located in Canada. In 2000, it was in Greenland. And now, almost 20 years later, the magnetic north pole is currently en route to Siberia, moving eastward at about 40 kilometres per year. And with the Earth’s magnetic field prone to reverse its polarity, the Earth and our technology could be at risk for major disruption.

56 hours from Great Sail Cay and DHS had problems with their foolproof program.
54h 29m from Great Sale to Charleston. Tried to check in too soon and the video link wouldn't work. Called them later from anchor. Currently anchored just south of Georgetown, headed there tomorrow.

One of the Bridges in N Myrtle Beach is broken. :(

Not so fast.
"The Chandler wobble... amounts to a change of about 9 metres (30 ft) in the point at which the axis intersects the Earth's surface and has a period of 433 days.[2][3] This wobble, which is a nutation, combines with another wobble with a period of one year, so that the total polar motion varies with a period of about 7 years."
