Thanks, I think she's pretty too. When I look online, the only photos I find are my boat. I mean really, it's MY BOAT. I didn't own it at the time but I recognize every jot and tiddle. That's my boat alright!

You probably already know this, but that looks identical to the late-eighties Cal 28, with the addition of the O'Day sugar scoop stern. Check out the Cal 28 boat brochure images in boatbrochure.com.

Pretty sure that the O'DAY 290 is just a retooled CAL 28-2 (early to mid 1980's, Hunt Associates Designed CAL 28, not to be confused with the mid-late 1960's Bill Lapworth-Designed CAL 28). The interior of the O'DAY is the same as the CAL, and you're not the first CAL or O'DAY owner to notice that. Most of the difference is that modified transom.

You are correct. They added the sugar scoop transom and I think the wing keel. Just before they went keel up, like so many other companies. Too bad. I'm currently waiting to have her dropped on her trailer for the winter. Home for the holidays.
