Pearson 37 prop shaft switch from 7/8" to 1"

I'd like to change the propeller shaft in my Pearson 37 from it's original 7/8" size to 1" diameter. The hull bore has clearance, and the packing gland will accept upgrading to a 1" size, but what about the strut? Can the strut accept a 1" cutlass bearing in place of it's current 7/8" cutlass bearing?
I'd like to assemble the parts before hauling out. My reason for making this change is to get into a more standard size for finding/buying parts in the future.

Easy to check

Just check the OD of a cutlass bearing for a 7/8" shaft, and see if the OD for a 1" is the same, or if you can get one with the same OD.
