Hello I have a 1985 Pearson 362, with a leaky stuffing box. Does anybody know the width of the packing material that I need to repack it? All help is appreciated, new boat and thankful!

You most likely have a 1" shaft. Either 3/16" or sometimes 1/4" is used for those. Measure it first or buy both and return what you don't need if you get Gore, or you can you buy UltraX (it only costs a few bucks for a couple of years' worth, not returnable since you buy a given length).

This includes links to Maine Sail's stuff, too.

It's a 1 1/4" shaft, a friend has material and we were gonna do in the water and wanted to know exactly what was needed. If anyone knows, much appreciated.

buy both and return unused one. PO could have changed the stuffing box- rare but possible in Murphy's law world
