pearson 30 spreader issues

Hi:
I am a recent pearson 30 owner. Love the boat.
My starboard spreader outside end moves forward and back about an inch.
Port spreader solid no movement.
Appears that there is some kind of a fitting between end of wooden spreader and mast on Port side. Seems to be missing on Starboard side. I think the boat was built in 1973.

Any information on this part or experience would be welcome.

Sounds like you need a new spreader. Contact D&R marine Assonet MA
they might have one. If that dosent work try taking both spreaders off
so you can see whats missing one one of them. Than take both spreaders to
a metal fabricator that works in aluminum and get a new part made.
