You told of various ways to send membership fees between countries.
I never found Canadian bank money orders or postal money orders very
good for small amounts because the fee was too high. Also it meant
going to town and standing in line.
Another way is to write a cheque on a credit card. Visa sent me a
set of cheques although I had not asked for any. It is simple to
write the cheque stating "U.S. dollars", and mail it. Visa will
translate back to your own currency in the regular statement they
send you. They do, however, start charging interest on the cheque,
the day it is cashed.
