Paul, I am currently looking to replace my 8hp honda outboard with a 15hp. Have you been on an O'day with anything less than the 15? Did the 15 make much of a difference in speed? Any input on this subject would be appreciated. Thanks -David
My neighbor at the marina has a 25 catalina with a (yachtmaster ?) 9.9. It seems to move okay although he runs his near full throttle most of the time. I am pleased with the 15 in that I don't have to run full throttle to reach hull speed. Its actual fuel use is around a gallon an hour. I have heard alot of good things about the 4 stroke but can't speak from my own experience. Good luck with your decision.
