Would you sail 30nm to visit a pastry shop? When the pastry shop is Sluys in Poulsbo WA, and the sailing is in the Puget Sound, YES!

What about you?

We were doing 6.5 with jus the Genoa unfurled. Did not want to jinks it. Had no wind tell we left Possession Sound. Half way to Port Madison the wind came up on our beam. Sailed on the Genoa through Agate right up to the Navy Research Center. Made the trip 5 hrs 10 minutes.

We usually make a stop at Sluys when in Poulsbo. If there's a line outside the door, I'll just buy bread from the bin by the door that I can take right up to the register. A significant problem at Sluys is that there are waaaay too many choices!!

P.S. Have you tried the bakery boat at Montague Harbor in the Gulf Isl.?? Sail by service!

Yes!

It wouldn't matter what the pastries were. There are a lot of trivial things I'd sail 30nm for. Because, I just love to go sailing. :)
There are much fewer things I wouldn't sail for. A mountain-based homestead with the woman I love is one of them. ;)

I sail to Poulsbo just for the pizza. The meat lovers special at the top of the ramp is to die for. The sail down is one of my favorites.

Poulsbo is a coffee desert if you wake early. Sluys opens a 4:30 am for the sweets but the local coffee folk aren’t around till 7am.
But thanks to google I found the Coffee Oasis. About a half mile up the hill. Great coffee that tasted delicious with my Sluys cherry turnover.

Ken joined me. While walking back to the boats he found his next boat when his Hunter 30 (in the background) finds a new owner.

You can build one of those little tugs, you know. There's a guy puts one in on our lake almost every weekend, looks the exact same design. Saw him last weekend. It's hard for him to get in/get out, because there's always someone to come chat him up about it. Cute little thing.

Yes it is cute. Has a 9.9hp outboard. Understand it is a home built. Used by a local for fun. Trailerable. Not sure it will be much of a party boat for the Lake Havasu college gatherings.

Here is the little home built tug that cruises around my lake. Sorry it's a grainy picture, I was zoomed way in to get a pic. I talked to the guy once, but I forget if he said where he got the design. He just sits in that tiny cabin, and cruises around.

Clark Mills on his tugboat, the Donald L. Heizer. Built from a Suncat hull (Com-Pac 16).

How about a real PASTRY BOAT....

If you ever wander down South, the New Orleans food is world famous.
Even the French Tarts on Bourbon street.
