I want to pass on to all that Ed Schenck's wife pssed away last week. I consider Ed a good friend and a fine sailor. He contributed his knowledge to this and other forums on many occasions. I know you will join me in sharing our thoughts and prayers for Ed and his family. Chuck Dickhut S/V Obsession Catalina 320

Ed, this is no place for personal condolences

I tried to send you something private with no luck. My thoughts are with you.

Sunset and evening star, And one clear call for me! And may there be no moaning of the bar, When I put out to sea, But such a tide as moving seems asleep, Too full for sound and foam, When that which drew from out the boundless deep Turns again home. Twilight and evening bell, And after that the dark! And may there be no sadness of farewell, When I embark; For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place The flood may bear me far, I hope to see my Pilot face to face When I have crost the bar. My condolences

The passing of a loved one is never easy, nor is it easy to find words to convey thoughts and feelings at these difficult times in life. I've always been inspired by this quote because of the uncannily close parallel it draws between sailing and life itself. "We must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it, but sail we must and not drift nor lie at anchor." - Oliver Wendell Holmes Fair winds, Peter H23 "Raven"

Sorry for your loss Ed...

We're both long timers here at HOW, and although it's only a web bb, it seems like we're all friends. Words can only convey so much, but I am truly sorry for you loss.
