I'm wondering if anyone has replaced their hatch boards with a door assembly. I know it's been done on other sail boats. It could save a lot of work in closing up when bad weather approaches and possibly could save storage space in the cabin. Leaking would be a concern.

I made mine
I sandwiched three layers of 1/4 plywood together, with ports made with tinted panes, then painted. Don't think I would have slats again. No leaks. I'll try and remember to get some pics when I return home and post for ya.
