Posting the latest upgrade I made on my 2002 passage 456 Discovery..we've been cruising full time since 2012 and I've always love solid ash battens inside a boat so I took the plunge..Happy to advise how I did this if anyone is interested..also I have started a Passage 450/456 Facebook page..hope to see owners share ideas here also

Great job
I did the exact ash batons in my aft cabin. There is a prior writeup on this
I’m curious about the porthole surrounds. Really like them
I note that you did led indirect lighting . Did the same on my 49, as the original lighting was horrible
Nice job. I’m impressed

On my ash plank job, I didn’t go T&G.
I literally fastened a sheet of marine ply to the hull, kerfed it to fit, and then used stainless finishing nails
I though of vertical battens, but I’m a glutton for punishment
Did you T&G the ask you self. What finish?

ill find a posting of my original document
Really like the porthole surrounds

Looks great also
Beautiful !

Care to share how you attached the battens to the hull ?

Tnx.
I had the battens milled with rounded edges..after measuring..cutting and dry fitting I applied liquid nails to back and then set the batten and used a pin nailer to attach until the adhesive set..pin nailer is a kin to a nail gun but shoots a thin braid that you really can't see ..great tip I was given.

Applied liquid nails then positioned the batten and used a pin nailer ( like a nail gun) to attach tight til adhesive set..pin nailer shoots a thin serrated braid that's used to attach trim etc. Can't see the hole..it penatrates the ash and imbedded into the 1/4 inch teak ply that was original
