Another weekend, another dock party! Two weeks ago I moved my boat about a mile upriver to another marina were i have friends docked. Last Sunday we threw together an inpromptu dock party an agreed to do it again this Friday evening (last night). Had a great turn out and more food than you could shake a stick at and most importantly got to meet some new folks. Capt'n Dick Dixon brought his boat upriver from Pascagoula and rafted up to a friends boat to stay the night. We were all talking about making this a weekly thing with different folks bringing a main dish in turns. as this is South Mississippi we should be able to keep this up for a while. Enclosed is a pic from many taken of our little group. Hope all have a good weekend.

Why Yes...

Why yes, I do think that there was a beer or two consumed during our evening!

I envy you southerners

Us northerners have not stopped partying as there is still the yacht club annual general meeting coming up, but a lot of boats are out and up on the hard for the winter now.

You are right in that sailing is a state of mind, I just got my first shipment of parts for all of the things I broke this past season, and some of the upgrades for the spring.

Party on good sailors!

Re: Why Yes...

I sure wouldn't want to drop my pocket knife on that decking. Barefoot walking must be nearly imposible. ;D

Yes Ross....

I have my truck keys stuffed deeply in my pockets before I hit the grating and yes barefoot walking is next to impossible. On the plus side traction when it is wet is not a problem!

Nice party, just one observation.

Please ask the owner of the power boat to remove the tattered US flag and send it to the CG Auxiliary for proper disposal. Enjoy them cold ones.

We get maybe 2 weeks a year where we can be out at night dressed as you all are...I definitely envy that part anyway.

Bell

Its a bell TC. Fellow and his wife live on the boat which they are prepping for some long range cruising. Cord goes up to a large bell mounted on the front of the mizzen mast.

Still.....

Stillraining, we get about two weeks a year when we have to put on long pants to stay out at night. The other 50 weeks seem like a hurricane is right around the corner.... frank

Speaking of grating, as deformed as it is,

it looks like this was not the first party in this spot....
