I recently acquired a nice 1986 DS II. The self-bailing scupper for draining the cockpit has broken. It is an aft-facing scoop-shaped fairing on the bottom at the transom on the centerline. It has a soft ball that is captive in the scoop and acts as a check valve. In the cockpit is a soft plug to use as stopper when underway. Does anyone know of a source for replacement of this fitting? My email is "w1dwz@rcn.com" thanks for any reply. Dave

Good Source if parts for DSII

Suggest you call Rudy Nickerson at D&R Marine. 508 644 3001 They no longer make the DSII, but he has lots of parts and good advice. Good Luck.

Dave, That's a fairly common vacuum bailer for most dinghies. You'll find them on a number of boats. Try any shop or site that does performance dinghies (420's, 470's, 49ers, etc.) or try Cape Cod Ship Building, they're on the web. Justin - O'day Owners' Web
