Does anyone know where parts might be available for the OMC Zephyr SailDrive?

Dabooo, the powerhead parts are still readily available from Bombardier, the guys who bought OMC. If ya take a copy of the parts manual to a friendly Johnson/Evinrude parts guy..go at a time when no one else is there and bring him a coupla doughnuts... he can probably cross reference the part numbers you have to current parts.. It may take a while to get.. but they are mostly available.. I think that the lower housing/gearcase may not be available, but most internals will be.. Happy Hunting !

EDIT: I think they are based on a 35 HP, 2 stroke, twin block .. The engine has been "de-tuned" a good bit for good torque and long life.

Claude, My powerhead is in good condition, too. What I might need could be the adapter plate and/or gasket, between the drive and powerhead. My guess is I will need to search for this as a used part.

Thanks for the suggestion, however!

Know Sierra Marine has all the old Johnson / Evinrude parts available here:

For ignition, cooling, plugs, and other needs, you can find the parts you need here. Trick is, jot the part number down and go to your local NAPA store with the part number and a description. They have access to the same parts shown in the link above and they can get you the parts. For your instance, their value is going to be primarily for the powerhead, but I thought I would share so you know.

The block that is the typical OMC 35 started out in 1955 as a 25-horse motor, was a 35 for a long time, then became a 40, and later a 33. It was sold under the GALE brand slightly detuned also. the OMC 35 twin is probably the most common outboard motor out there.
