I bought a hurricane damaged 32'oday center cockpit and it needs some love. The forward hatch is missing, where can i get a replacement or is there an after market hatch that will work as the old one was contoured to the deck. Also it had a swing keel. The bottom section is missing, is there specs availible so i can have a new one fabricated. It also needs other odds and ends, does anybody know a good place to buy used/salvaged parts for these sailboats. Any help would greatly apreciated. Leif

Leif, You may be able to get all or most of what you need for this boat off Rudy Nickerson of D&R Marine in Assonet Ma. USA. Rudy has all the O'Day parts, plus the molds. They probably don't build the same forward hatch for this boat any longer, but if Rudy doesn't have a replacement for it, you may be able to just build a wood frame that will fit the contour of the deck, and mount a hatch of your choosing on it. A friend of mine did this to his Pearson Ariel and it worked out great. Anyway, if you have any questions about this boat, Rudy can surely answer them, as he worked for O'Day at their Fall River MA plant, and is very knowledgeable about these boats. Good luck! Joe

Leif, I'm thinking that Joe is right. I'll also bet that your 32 hatch is probably the same as those found on other O'days. Give D&R a call.
