I am getting ready for a trip down to Key West in a couple weeks and have been giving my boat a complete going over. Naturally I found several things needing to be replaced or repaired. One was I had developed a leak in the head pumping assembley. Last year I replaced the gasket and "joker Valve" in the pump assembly but now I am leaking again. I found after removing the screws holding the casing that 2 of the spool like extrusions inside that the screws screw into were broken off. (too brittle I guess) I tried several things. I glued them back. did not hold. I drilled them out and replaced the screws with bolts,. Leaked worse than ever. Finally I went to WM to check out parts. The only part they had was the complete assembley, pump and all. This was great I thought until they priced it at $138.00 Then I checked the price of a new "Jobsco" head. With rebate and sale price it was 159.00 minus 35.00 off plus a $20 rebate. Before you all tell me to get a better head like the cricket etc, let me tell you I am one lazy person and It was so easy to take out 4 bolts and just pop out the old head and pop in the new one. So now I have anotehr "discount head". Anyhow, seems funny the parts are more than the whole unit. Makes me wonder if they will ever sell the 2 pump units on the shelf there.
