Does the Catalina 30 parts for the interior like shelving, closets, chart tables are available for late 70s models from factory?

For example I'd like to change the slanted chart table with the flat top model.
Thanks guys.

Why not call the factory? We here would only be guessing.
Of course that will be the other solution.:) But it's too easy...

My current boat is a Shamrock and on our bulletin board area these kind of questions are answered by the hardcore Shammy owners in a heartbeat with ten times more in detail than we ever get a response from the dealers or the manufacturer.
I thought since this is a Cat30 owners site somebody already may have purchased something for their Catalina 30 and may answer the question.

Plus it is really hard for me to call the factory since I work 7:00 am to 6 pm everyday on a boat and out of cell phone signal range. By the time I come back they are already closed.

I wonder why they don't put that info into their website?

Thanks anyways,;)

Sooooooo?
You value an unknown Catalina owner's opinion over the factory's knowledge?

I am handy and have owned my C-30 for about thirty years, and would certainly value the engineer who designed it's opinion over most anyone, particularly for an unusual request like this.
Why not just make your own nav station to your own specs?
Its just plywood.

I wasn't asking an opinion.:naughty:

I was asking if anybody here ever purchased any older Catalina 30 parts and pieces from factory or better if they have the knowledge of factory (or an aftermarket company) is still supplying those old style pieces?

I could do that, if I was retired and have some carpentry skills. But I don't have enough time to cook food in microwave unfortunately.

Besides, I like to keep everything as original as they were made/installed by the factory.

I didn't think wanting to upgrade an older version of Catalina 30 shelving with the ones they put into the newer Catalina 30s was an unusual request.

I mean I am buying a 78 and I want to change the shelving with the ones look like they put on those early 80s models and I was wondering if anybody here knows if it's possible to get them from factory or somewhere else?
That's all..
:)

1. Sorry you didn't like the answers. Always helpful to complain to people who are trying to help.

2. The factory has moved to Florida, so if you get up at 5 a.m., call them 'cuz it's eight in the morning back east. Just don't be so cranky :snooty: and maybe they'll help you out. ;););)

I'm taking a modestly educated guess here, but I'm going to speculate that no, Catalina will not have wood parts for a 1970's interior.

Probably not much demand, and most of these builders have very sketchy records once you go deeper than the 90's.

I have ordered custom work for them

I have ordered custom cusions form them that were identical matches to the original. As far as I know they still fabricate most of thier own interiors in thier own shops. Therefore they would be able to make the items you require from the original plans. In the case of the cusions the price was equal to or better than local, at least for me.

...also

I think I would agree with you J Davis. It's easier to get a first opinion here before moving on to the next step.

Why not ask other Catalina owners if they have ever bought after market or left over wood parts for the interior? Why give him a hard time for coming here first?

Whatever...

Since the newer nav tables are slanted, it would probably require either buying an entire nav table cabinet with a flat table top or cutting off the top of the cabinet hortizontal and refabricating the interior. Skills it sounds like you don't quite have or skills you just don't have the time to use.

Plus, would the older style nav table fit in the space where the newer nav table is.

Good Luck
