Parking strategies for Newport Boat Show

Been there, done that. First, $15 for parking is cheap. It's usually$20 or more nearby the show. Best places for breakfast are on Main St downtown away from the tourist traps and a 10 min walk to A Cup Ave.
Parking
Most streets in neighborhoods have permit parking only. If you want to be near downtown where the bulk of the action is, your best bet is to pay to park. Since it's boat show weekend, the local police force will be aiming to meet their parking ticket goal for the month in one weekend, so make sure to look at any signs wherever you park.

if you know where to look, you can find on-street free parking but not close to the boat show. Anywhere up the hill toward Bellevue, on Bellevue or the supermarket parking lot on the corner are a short walk. If you want flat, downtown past the movie theater also a short walk.

$15 that is cheap. Got invited two years ago to the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat show. The person I went with thought nothing of paying $45 for parking three blocks away. It looked as if they were having block parties in some of the large number of Mega Yachts that were there. I guess the display of wealth extended to the parking lots.
