So I tell my wife that we should buy the boat. It will be "therapeutic" to restore a sailboat. Plus dear, think of all the money I will save by fixing her up myself. Keep in mind that the bulk of my sailing knowledge comes from Jimmy Buffet CD's. Mindy has gotten more then her share of I told you so's out of this project. After this is done I hope to never hear the word Yanmar again. I am swapping my old ysm 12 for a 2qm 15. Does anyone know if I will be able to wire the old control pane (ysm12) to operate the 2Qm15. Control panel with the new motor has seen better days. Today I was tweaking the engine and hooked to up to the small post on the battery that I have been using and I get noting. The buzzer does not sound nor does the engine even attempt to start. I had the battery tested at my local AutoZone and the main terminals gave a good reading but the small terminals that the battery wires hook to read bad. The battery is only a week old, any idea how this could have happened. Also I need to rewire the 2qm15 control panel as some of the wires are cut, see my old post of yanmar vs concrete. So if anyone knows where I can find or buy a wiring diagram please direct me in that way. While my knowledge base about all things boats has increased the most important lesson that I have learned from this whole thing. WARRENTY!!!!!
