Parade of lights in DC

I was wondering how the parade of lights goes in DC I will be coming up from Quantico VA and would like to know maybe where to stay . We went up to DC for the 4th and anchored in the lagoon next to the Washington sailing marina ,I knew about that b/c i used to work there . so and insider info would be nice .

My marina is just south of that, although I've never actually participated. The City of Alexandria has city docks - those are the ones just north of the Torpedo Factory, there should be info on the City web site if they take transients overnight. If you're military, you might see about Bolling AFB, they have a small marina over there. I don't think Belle Haven has any open slips, but you'd have to call and see, they might let you tight up at the dock or something. With the hydrilla in the river, be careful about anchoring too shallow and clogging your prop.
